The Day After

How Valentine's Day Came To Be:
Every February 14, across the United States and in other countries all around the world, candy, flowers and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious Saint, and where did these traditions come from?
Did you know that the first representation of St Valentine appeared in 1493, the text states that he was a Roman priest who was arrested and imprisoned?
According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first "valentine" greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed "From your Valentine," an expression that is still in use today.
Did you know that approximately 85 percent of all valentines' cards are purchased by women? It goes without saying that women are more romantic than some men!  Courtesy of Natural Cures
